20.07.2025
On Saturday, 19th July 2025, the Kotobabi Wembley Sports Complex in Accra was the place to be. Buzzing with energy, excitement, and local pride, the stadium hosted the much-anticipated second edition of the PrideSpins Community Football Gala - a celebration of grassroots football, youth empowerment, and communal spirit.
After the overwhelming success of the inaugural event in 2024, expectations were high, and the PrideSpins Community Gala didn’t disappoint. The 2025 gala took the event to new heights, further solidifying PrideSpins’ growing legacy as one of the leading supporters of grassroots sports development in Ghana.
A Clash of Local Football Titans
This year’s PrideSpins Community Gala tournament featured eight electrifying local teams:
• Kaneshie Station FC
• Shaolin FC
• 6 Gods
• Racco FC
• NDC FC
• Jamaica 11
• Parliament Boys
• Obutu Road
Each team is part of PrideSpins Community Football Jersey Giveaway and now the gala aimed for all eight teams to showcase their talent. All teams brought flair, passion, and impressive tactical play to the pitch. From dazzling dribbles to dramatic saves and last-minute goals, spectators were treated to a day full of nail-biting action and unforgettable football moments. The tournament wasn't just about winning it was moreover about community pride, sportsmanship, and showcasing the immense pool of talent that Ghana’s streets, schools, and neighbourhoods continue to produce.
In the end, three standout teams took home the top honours:
• Champions: GHS 3,000
• Runners-up: GHS 2,000
• Third Place: GHS 1,000
But true to the PrideSpins spirit, every participating team was rewarded. Branded team jerseys, customised gift bags, and exciting merchandise were handed out. Therefore no one left empty-handed, and everyone felt appreciated for their role in making the event special.
Entertainment On and Off the Pitch
While the football action took centre stage, the PrideSpins Gala had much more to offer than just what happened on the field. One of the biggest attractions this year was the debut of Ghana’s first outdoor Plinko board.
Our PrideSpins Plinko board is a thrilling and colourful addition that instantly captured the attention of the crowd. Fans lined up to drop chips down the towering board, hoping for a lucky bounce and a chance to win exciting instant prizes. The Plinko board created a carnival-like atmosphere, and its popularity signals that it may become a regular fixture at future PrideSpins events.
In addition to Plinko, spectators enjoyed:
• Darts competitions
• Side games and mini challenges
• Music and dance performances
• Free giveaways and food stalls
This fusion of sports, games as well as entertainment created a well-rounded experience for attendees of all ages. Families, local leaders, football enthusiasts and casual fans all found something to enjoy, making it more than a tournament. The 2025 PrideSpins Gala was a true community celebration.
A Platform for Youth and Community Development
More than just a game, the PrideSpins Community Football Tournament is a platform for transformation. It is built on a clear mission: to empower young people, uplift communities and furthermore encourage active, healthy lifestyles through the power of sport.
By bringing organised football tournaments to local communities, PrideSpins:
• helps young athletes gain visibility
• builds confidence and discipline among participants
• offers an alternative to negative social influences
• encourages positive social interaction as well as teamwork
• fosters community identity and pride
This commitment is part of PrideSpins’ broader vision to create long-term impact through social activation, not just in Accra but across Ghana. These tournaments are designed to be stepping stones for future football stars. Ideally the galas help to identify and nurture raw talent that may otherwise go unnoticed.
The brand's consistent investment in youth-focused initiatives has earned it a strong reputation not just as an entertainment provider, but as a changemaker within the local sports ecosystem.
Looking Ahead – The PrideSpins Gala Movement Grows
If the 2025 edition is anything to go by, the future of the PrideSpins Community Gala looks bright. With plans already underway for more regional tournaments, youth camps and moreover community-driven events, PrideSpins is actively working to make these gatherings more frequent and even more impactful.
Football fans, community leaders and of course aspiring players are all encouraged to become part of the growing movement. PrideSpins invites schools, youth clubs, NGOs, and local businesses to join forces in supporting these initiatives.
