PrideCares Initiative Brings Lasting Change to Chaboba

31.03.2026

Between 25th and 29th March, the quiet community of Chaboba in Ghana’s Bono East Region became the focus of a powerful corporate social responsibility initiative that delivered far more than short-term support. What unfolded through the “Love for Chaboba” outreach was a carefully coordinated effort aimed at creating meaningful, lasting change across education, healthcare, and community wellbeing.

At the heart of this initiative was PrideSpins, working through its CSR arm, PrideCares. In partnership with Nana Tea and the You At Heart Foundation International, the organisations combined resources and expertise to implement a multi-layered community outreach programme designed to address real, everyday challenges faced by residents.

PrideCares Expands Access to Education in Bono East Region

A key pillar of the outreach was education support, where PrideCares played a central role. Through a targeted financial contribution of $1,500, the organisation helped fund a large-scale academic donation drive benefiting more than 400 students in Chaboba and the nearby community of Apaaso.

Essential learning materials, including notebooks, pens, and other classroom supplies, were distributed to students who often face limited access to basic educational resources. This support goes beyond simple provision. Instead it directly contributes to improved participation, confidence, and continuity in the classroom.

In addition, 15 high-performing but financially disadvantaged pupils were recognised with backpacks. This gesture not only provided practical assistance but also reinforced a culture of encouragement and recognition, highlighting the importance of academic excellence within underserved communities.

PrideSpins Supports Health and Community Wellbeing

Beyond education, the PrideSpins-led initiative addressed one of the most pressing challenges in rural Ghana: access to healthcare. A free medical screening programme was organised, reaching nearly 300 community members.

Residents were tested for common but potentially serious conditions such as malaria, high blood pressure, and typhoid. Importantly, the initiative focused not only on diagnosis but also on awareness and prevention, equipping individuals with the knowledge needed to better manage their health.

This proactive approach reflects a broader shift in community outreach strategies, moving from reactive care to preventive health education, which can have long-term benefits for entire communities.

PrideCares Promotes Dignity Through Practical Support

Recognising that community wellbeing extends beyond education and healthcare, PrideCares also supported families through the distribution of essential items, including clothing, shoes, and household goods. These contributions helped ease financial pressure while restoring a sense of dignity and comfort.

A particularly impactful aspect of the outreach focused on young girls’ education. More than 95 schoolgirls received sanitary pads alongside menstrual hygiene education, addressing a critical barrier that often affects school attendance in many parts of Ghana. By tackling this issue directly, the initiative supports both health and long-term educational outcomes.

Widows within the community were also given special attention. Through dedicated donations, PrideCares acknowledged their resilience and challenges, reinforcing the importance of inclusive support within community development efforts.

Building Sustainable Impact Through CSR Initiatives

What distinguishes the Love for Chaboba initiative is its emphasis on sustainability. In addition to immediate support, efforts were made to improve educational environments and explore livelihood support opportunities, ensuring that the impact extends well beyond the duration of the outreach.

This approach aligns with modern corporate social responsibility practices, where the focus is not only on giving, but on enabling communities to build resilience and long-term independence.

PrideSpins and PrideCares Reinforce Commitment to Community Development

Through PrideCares, PrideSpins continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to community development in Ghana and across its areas of operation. The initiative highlights how strategic partnerships and well-planned CSR programmes can create meaningful, measurable impact.

Rather than positioning communities as passive recipients, the Love for Chaboba outreach reflects a collaborative model - one where local engagement, respect, and shared progress are central to success.

A Lasting Legacy in Chaboba

The results of the initiative are already visible. Students are better equipped to succeed in school, families have greater access to healthcare knowledge, and vulnerable groups feel recognised and supported.

While the outreach lasted only a few days, its effects are designed to endure. In Chaboba, PrideSpins and PrideCares have not only delivered support. They have helped lay the foundation for continued growth, empowerment, and community-driven progress.
